Vacation Details
Ground Transportation:
Your airport transfers to and from Montego Bay are included in your villa rate for reservations 7 days or longer for the first 4 guest. Additional persons can expect to pay $10 US each way per person. The additional amount is paid directly to your driver.

Food, Staff & Service:
Your villa comes with a cook/chef and a housekeeper.
Your cook will handle the grocery shopping and meals. She will prestock your first few meals, and then finish the week’s shopping after meeting with you. A typical grocery budget is about $25 per adult per day. This may vary depending on the menus you request. (This budget includes a modest amount of Red Stripe Beer, Rum & moderately priced wines). If you wish to go to the various markets with your cook, you are welcome. Otherwise, simply review with her your tastes and distastes and she’ll handle it all while you stay at the villa/beach and relax. At week’s end she will present receipts and reconcile your account (unless fresh fish, lobster and vegetables are delivered to the villa, then she will need cash).
Your housekeeper will take care of every detail of your bedroom and bath. She will return your neatly folded laundry each afternoon, and turn down your bed each evening. Upon request, a masseuse will come to the villa to provide treatments so you don’t have to leave home for this luxury.
Children’s Amenities:
We welcome children! Our cook will be happy to prepare special meals for children of all ages and serve them when the parents suggest. Often, this means parents can enjoy rare all-adult candlelight
dinners. We provide highchairs and cribs on request. We can also provide a wonderful, reliable nanny for $10 US per hour.
Tips and Gratuities:
If your villa staff has provided you with exemplery services, you may wish to leave a gratuity at the end of your stay. The recommended rate is $10 USD per day per staff. However, the amount is strictly up to you.
Weather:
Jamaica enjoys typical Caribbean weather: 80’s and 90’s by day and 70’s (farenheit) at night.
Winter and summer variance is only 10 degrees. It is more likely to rain in May/June and September/October than in other months. Dress is casual. Coats, ties and expensive jewelry are not appropriate. In winter months, you may need a cotton sweater after sunset. Do take mosquito
repellent and sun screen!
Currency:
US dollars are accepted island wide. Exchange rates vary if you choose to purchase Jamaican dollars. Most commercial establishments, including grocery and liquor stores, accept credit cards. There are also ATM machines everywhere. Staff and driver gratuities, however, must be paid in cash.
Travel and Documents:
Tourism is Jamaica’s leading industry, so reserve flights early. Your destination is Montego Bay (MJB). Air Jamaica, Air Canada, American, Continental, Delta, British Air, Northwest, United, USAir, Jet Blue, Virgin Atlantic and Westjet are major carriers. Several charters operate from the East
Coast, the Midwest and Europe. A new private plane terminal enables expedited Immigration and Customs clearance for our private plane passengers. Proof of citizenship will be required with a valid passport. Check with your airlines about details, including luggage.
Check-in and Check-out Times:
Check-in time is 1:00 p.m. on arrival day. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. on departure day. However, if no other guests are scheduled to occupy your villa on arrival and departure days, you are welcome
to check in early and check out as late as you wish. Remember, the schedule may change prior to your travel date, so you may wish to check with your villa coordinator again prior to your trip.
Electricity:
Current is essentially the same as US: 110 volts, 50 cycles (US is 60 cycles). Converters are not necessary for US made appliances.
Telephone-Overseas Calls:
We recommend Digicel cell phones which are available at local cell phone outlets in Jamaica. They can cost as low as $30 US. For approximately $15 US, you can then purchase an International Phone Card for your cell phone. This card will give you 1200 minutes of time.
Internet Access:
We have free wireless internet connection, so feel free to bring your laptop.
Payment and Cancellation Policy:
A 25% deposit confirms a reservation. Balance is due 30 days before travel. There will be no refunds for cancellations within the 30 days prior to scheduled occupancy. For cancellations 30 days or more to scheduled occupancy, we will refund all deposits less a 10% cancellation fee. For Christmas and New Year’s week, cancellations made more than 45 days prior to scheduled occupancy; we will refund all deposits less a 10% cancellation fee.
